great in semi-automatics
I own 2 Ruger Mk4 and a Ruger 10/22. This is the best ammo I have found for those weapons. almost no stovepipes and no misfires. Puts the pleasure back into my range time. Five star performance.

Go-to ammo for 10/22
We have a few 10/22s in the family. It shoots tight groups with this ammo. It runs clean, too. Note that this is a round nose bullet (as started in the specs) not a hollow point (as stated in the overview).

Great round for range
I shoot this cartridge out of my Ruger 10/22, GSG 22 and my Ruger 22 revolvers. I have never had a bad round. Cleanliness with 22s is a must. Surprising how much burnt powder and lead residue fouls bolts, cylinders, forcing cones and chambers. In this regard Federal is no different than any other manufacturer. A clean 22 will shoot 1200 fps ammo. At one time 1200 fps was the min for semi autos before 1200 fps was readily available. If you have never removed a 10/22 bolt and keep pouring in oil, you just collect more of it quicker and then the bolt fails to cycle. If you have fired a 10/22 just a few times, the build up behind the bolt will surprise you. Looking and cleaning through the ejection and magazine port will not get the job done on a semi 22. Take it apart before it quits cycling. Don’t ruin your range day.

Excellent ammo
Anyone who complains about the ammo is way off the mark. Either it is a problem with there weapon or feed system on the gun. this ammo is excellent. Its not expensive ammo, so dont me expecting to shoot the left wing of a mosquito off 10/10 times. Its not designed for that. Bottom line is I've shot 197/200 with the ammo and a 3-9 on a CZ rifle, and as for hunting the ammo is superb. Head shots on rabbits at well over 100 yards with a 3-9 scope. And hardly inaccurate. Great stuff federal !

Good Stuff, no negatives
I am surprised to see any negative comments about this fine ammo. It is called "AutoMatch" on the black-and-white box, not to be confused with the lesser quality Champion 510 ammo which is good for plinking only. The AM22 AutoMatch is my go-to cost-effective round for bolt action rifles and auto pistols. Almost never jams or fails to feed. Capable of nice accurate .8 MOA groups at 50 ft, 25 yds, and 50 yds. I won't judge it beyond 50 yards because I can't read the wind that well. I have several thousand rounds stored away, I like it that much. Too bad prices are going sky high - when I first bought AM22 two years ago it cost $10.30 for a box of 325; then it went to $13.50, $14.50, $15.50 and now is about $18.00 if it can be found at all. Don't buy from the price gougers who are trying to charge $50 for a box of AutoMatch - wait and the ammo supply will reappear soon enough.
