Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly accurate, can hunt and reasonable price I purchased the .243 Fusion as a starting point for my son's new Tikka T3x Laminated Stainless / his first real rifle. I thought that we could sight it in, and then try a box of more expensive ammo to estimate accuracy. I had seen some posts about Fusion being accurate in Tikkas. Well, we did not try the other ammo. My son (17) shot a several sub-MOA groups at 100 yards, and one group was under one-half inch. This was my son's first time shooting this rifle, and it was his first time shooting a center fire rifle. The limited shooting I did to finish zeroing the scope yielded half inch groups. We found our go to ammo for hunting (95 grain) and target (1/2 inch groups) on our first try.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Somewhat Disappointed I bought these for my 243 and out of the box I found one round out of tolerance. Visibly shorter than the other rounds. Strike One. Accuracy wise they grouped well but then I shot a deer with one and after 100 plus yards of tracking no deer. Found the deer two days later, double lung shot entry and exit wounds the same size. I ate losing game and thie round failed to expand on the animal. Strike out. I can't have my rounds not perform when fired. I'm a fan of the Federal brand but somewhat disappointed with the Federal Fusion.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from POOR BLOOD TRAILS Shoots extremely well but will not be buying again have shot 2 does this week first one was liver and lung only ran 30 yards but absolutely no blood trail thankfully was in open woods and easy to find shot a doe today can’t tell you where exactly was hit but I know it was a good shot no blood for 80 yards found a couple fist sized puddles after that but have yet to recover the animal will be going to look first thing in the morning both shots were around 100 yards will be going back to the power shock or Nosler very disappointed with the fusion Savage axis 243 win

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great, but not for short range? Deer hit at 10 yards the bonded bullet didn't expand. I'm going back to Federal Power Shok for our short range shots. The deer dies at 10 yards, but I got no blood trail because of the tiny exit wound. I can't complain too much. Nobody is going to make a 243 round for 10 yard shots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not "Just" for thin skinned game! Three of these hogs were in the trap along side a feeder. Under the feeder was a 225 pound (weighed) boar. One shot through the shoulder angled back (unluckily) through the paunch and lodged under the skin on the off side. Kicker is... This bullet had to go through a full thickness of 3 inch thick shoulder shield, a shoulder, ribs, lungs, paunch, a back rib and lodged under the skin. Load was 308 Win 150 grain #F308FS1. Recovered slug weighed 125.8 grains. I would use this load all day long and twice on Sundays. And no, I don't work for Federal or have anything to lose / gain by adding this note. Facts is Facts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Ammo I purchased a Mossberg Patriot rifle in 243 Win. and this is the ONLY ammo it would shoot accurately. I tried 7 different types/brands of ammo and the best I could get out of the rifle was around 2" groups @ 100 yds. The Federal Fusion will consistently shoot 3/4" groups out of my Patriot all day long if I do my part. I took 2 8 pts. from the same stand on 2 different days at a lasered 290 yds. Both shots were broadside at calm animals. One shot kills and achieved complete penetration on both deer. The wound channel was impressive. Both bucks traveled about 20 yds. and was done. This is the best factory ammo for the 243Win. if your rifle will shoot it. As a side bar I never found a hand load that would shoot in this rifle either. With the performance I got with the Fusion I'll never reload for this rifle or waste anymore time and money trying to find a reload that it will shoot. I ran this ammo through a chronograph and averaged right at 2800 to 2825 fps. in a 22" barrel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing and stupid accurate After shooting these rounds, they are almost exclusively what I shoot. Ballistics don't seem accurate with these rounds as I have confirmed that a .243 with my Tikka T3 Lite is still climbing at 200 yards. I am shooting .5 MOA at 200 yards and wind up to 8 mph seems to have little affect. Highly recommend them... the only downfall is that they seem to cut through deer with little knock-down power. I shot my deer this year at 264 yards and went straight through. My oldest son shot his deer at 515 yards with 130 grain .270 and still went through and through. Enough damage to track successful shots, but the respond like hot knives through butter!
