The Brass Advantage

The unique physical properties of a genuine brass shotshell head provide significant advantages over brass-plated steel. The top-quality brass heads in Federal Premium High Over All shotshell loads provide better extraction from the tight chambers of target guns, as well as easier reloadability.

Podium Wad

When designing Federal Premium High Over All, engineers knew the wad would be a critical component. So, they gave its Podium wad an exclusive crush zone design that cushions the payload for less deformation, equalizes pressures for better pattern efficiency, and reduces felt recoil for more comfortable shooting.

High-Antimony Lead

At ignition, shotshell pellets are subjected to incredible forces that can deform them and degrade patterns. To combat this, the lead used in Federal Premium High Over All pellets is blended with a metal called antimony that makes the shot hard enough to resist deformation. Our 5 percent antimony lead is the perfect mix to ensure the most density as well as the best hardness.
