I have almost exclusively carried the Federal Premium 124gr 9mm Hydra Shok Ammo in my 9mm EDC carry for since it was introduced. I had the pleasure of getting to use a local Law Enforcement Pistol Range and got the chance to shoot at some ballistic Gelatin at 25yds and 35yds. The damage done to the Gallatin at 25 yds was just amazing, and very lethal. The damage done at 35 yards was nearly the same, but with a smaller cavity and round tract which was to be expected. This Hydra Shok Round in 124 grain, 9mm round is just plain lethal. This round will always be my EDC in my 9mm Sig Sauer that I carry everyday. No other options exist for me. Plain and simple !!!

Its been a few years since I have shot these, but last time I tested these in soaked phone books the depth and size of the holes are easy to follow. I was glad to have these in my 92fs when 2 guys thought they would break in. Lucky for them they decided to leave when my 3 german shephards met them at the window and door. great for self defense, not sure that I would use anything else.

Shoots clean and is very accurate. Recoil is very manageable through my Glock 19. It's my personal defense round of choice.

I started hand loading this bullet when it was clled the Scorpion and manufactured by Hydra-Shok. Now Federal makes the bullet and calls it the Hydra Shok. I was a police officer at the time I started using this bullet. My results compared to others is very very positive. Great stopping power.

great self defense bullet best out there. easy to use works great with cheep guns. i carry a high point c-9 9mm. it does not jam at all works great
