Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Acuracy and tight grouping in my Sako 7mm Very happy with them on paper with my Sako 7mm rem mag. Tight groups at long ranges. Have yet to take any game with them though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would Love More Reload Calibers Did some reloading with these bullets. My .270 has taken Moose with this bullet. Fantastic performance. Wish there was a .25-06 round to buy or bullet to reload.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Confident Africa Round Used the 180 grain Trophy Bonded Tip in 300 Win Mag for Waterbuck, Warthog, Zebra, Leopard, Nyala, Kudu and Impala. All animals listed were one shot kills. This bullet holds together well, has ample expansion, is accurate and has deep penetration. Federal Premium has always performed very well for me, very dependable ammunition.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not ideal for smaller whitetail I only rank these three stars because Federal has them advertised as a whitetail bullet and while they may be properly suited for larger Northern Whitetail, I do not believe they are ideal for most deer down South. I shot two deer this weekend with these bullets, one was a small deer that was injured from another hunter that I had to put down. The deer was shot in the neck at only 10 yards (this was the only shot available at the time as we feared the deer would run if we tried to get in a better position). The bullet did not expand much and the deer was incapacitated but still alive, and I had to cut its' throat. This was a small deer, only about 80 pounds. The next day I shot a 6 point at 10 yards, the deer was facing me and the bullet entered in the middle of the chest and exited about 6 inches in front of the rear leg out the paunch. This bullet traveled a good 2 feet through the boiler room and the deer still ran 150 yards one way, was still alive 15 minutes later when I bumped him on the way out, and ran 150 yards back to where I shot him. It was a difficult recovery. There is a chance it was a single lung shot due to the angle but I have taken that shot several times before and the result was a DRT deer. In fact the last 10 or so deer I've shot have been DRT with exception of one that was shot in the heart with a .260 Remington 140gr core-lokt. I am not faulting the bullet design because they are made to be durable and hold their weight, and they do that perfectly, just the fact that there are better bullet designs for whitetail in my opinion. I would save this for larger, thicker skinned and heavier boned animals like boar hogs. I just don't think the dump enough energy into the smaller deer to knock them down unless you hit something hard by chance. It is very accurate for hunting ammunition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great at 20 feet I bought this ammo for pigs in the A zone, but I only came across a deer. It definitely put down the deer and it expanded. At least the exit wound was expanded based on the hole size. The deer only walked maybe 10 yards after the shot. The round exited the elbow and slowed him down significantly after piercing the heart. It was expensive to sight in but I would have been confident at over 100 yards as well as 20 feet. There is food on the table, the condors aren't dying of lead poisoning and neither will my children.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go to cartridge. This cartridge has been my go-to round for African plains game from steenbok to zebra. Flawless performance and accuracy that matches handload accuracy in my Winchester Model 70. There is no reason to own another rifle ... other than the obvious reason that everyone needs another firearm!
