Syntech Defense

Part #: S9SJT1

Syntech® changed the range forever. Now the technology is revolutionizing protection as well. All-new Syntech Defense™ provides dynamic terminal performance with a hollow-point bullet that separates into three segments and a deep-penetrating core on impact. The core penetrates 12 to 18 inches through bare ballistics gel and heavy clothing—a critical benchmark in self-defense situations and the best terminal performance of any round in its class. The petals create three secondary wound channels, each more than 6 inches deep, adding to the terminal effect. Like all Syntech loads, an advanced polymer jacket eliminates lead and copper fouling and drastically reduces damaging heat and friction in the barrel. Its Federal® exclusive Catalyst™ primer provides hot, extremely reliable ignition without the use of lead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Round These were my first 4 rounds at 30 feet from a Springfield XDE. They made it easier to keep my weapon on target. It had less muzzle flip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from deep penetration, split off into 3 wound channels Shot out of a Glock 26-4. Chrono at 1046 ave. shot straight to poa. Shot into 5 milk jugs of water, probably started separating in the 1st jug, went into the 2nd jug, and believe it or not, I recovered 2 of the three petals. The jug actually had cuts (3) on the jug letting water out. The main part of the bullet continued on to the 4th jug, and was recovered. It does not smash down, so no lost weight of the bullet. I did this several times, all the same result. It is a little stout load to shoot, but ok. On one of the shots, the main rear portion of the bullet was stuck in the back of the 4th jug, halfway out of the plastic. Next I will add a pair of jeans to shoot thru.
