Federal Premium Vital-Shok .300 Win. Short Mag. 180-grain Barnes Triple-Shock X Bullet
I took this moose in Maine during the 2008 season. I used a Kimber 8400 chambered in 300 WSM and utilized Federal ammo with the Barnes 180 TSX bullet. I shot the moose at a ranged 140 yards hitting him twice. My first shot was right behind the left shoulder on a perfect broadside shot. The bullet exited behind the right shoulder. My second shot was a frontal shot that entered the left side of the chest cavity as the bull was running towards us at about 100 yards. This shot broke the left shoulder and lodged deep in bull's abdomen after penetrating the lungs and liver. The bull ran a total of 40 yards before dropping. The internal damage that this load caused was immense. Thanks for a great product!
