Grateful Nation and the Deer Channel take the Texas native on a hunt for Texas whitetail, and also help get Bradley started on a new career in whitetail management. SSG Gruetzner hasn't allowed his injuries to hold back his love of hunting, and has even had a special prosthetic arm created that allows him to bowhunt. We'll learn how his connection with nature, and the love of his daughter has provided him the motivation to face his struggles and to return to a "normal" life.

Luis Dahlman TX Whitetail

Grateful Nation is a unique and compelling outdoor adventure series that goes behind the scenes and into the hunting field with American disabled veterans like SPC Louis Dahlman. SPC Louis Dahlman grew up in Everly, Iowa and was the gunner on the lead gun truck for many convoy escorts in Iraq. As he was running a convoy just south of Baghdad, an EFP (explosively formed penetrator) detonated as they crossed an overpass. A copper plate from the bomb caught him in the face, severely injuring him and nearly taking off his entire jaw. Host and former Airborne Ranger Tim Abell takes SPC Dahlman to Texas' Blue Mountain Ranch on a hunt for a monster Texas whitetail, and learns how Louis is coping with with his injuries.

He tells us about the friends in his platoon he lost, and how he is a living memorial to them…Showing us the tattoo he had inked on his chest.
