A Pro's View Of 3-Gun
National and World Practical Shooting Champion, Todd Jarrett, has been a dominant force in practical shooting in the United States for the past 25 years. He currently holds four world titles, nine national titles and countless other shooting-event trophies.
Jarrett now has his eyes set on a 3-Gun National Championship. We interviewed Jarrett to learn more about the sport:
FP: Why do you compete in 3-Gun Competitions?
TJ: “Like many other shooters, I had all of these types of firearms sitting around in my gun locker for years. So it just made sense to start a new game that combines my black rifle (AR-15), tactical shotgun and defense pistol.”
FP: What does 3-Gun have that other shooting competitions do not?
TJ: “3-Gun has a lot of crossover appeal. It showcases many different types of talents from long range rifle at 500 yards to fast-paced shooting with tactical-style slug guns."
FP: Do you think 3-Gun competitions is a growing sport?
TJ: “Yes, 3-Gun competition is growing faster than local staff can keep up. Online registration for matches fills up in just seconds. And many ranges are making big improvements like extending long-gun ranges, buying new steel targets and adding props to attract 3-Gun shooters.” |
