It can deliver a crushing pattern at crazy distances
I as a rule use 1 1/8 wing shok but I hunt often in Mountain Lion country and Lions are creepy. I have had my Dog charged several times most I charge yelling, but? I use a #4 1 1/4 wing shok when I hunt in those areas where I have either see fresh sign of cats or have had experience with them. I hunt with a brittany and the way they hunt is just like dangling a toy in front of your house cat. When it comes down you have about a second or less to charge it or kill it. Extremely abrupt. I am comfortable that a #4 1 1/4 ounce would deliver a lethal pattern at up to 50 yds. I have some level of contact every year with lions over the last 12 years or so. Nevada Mike

Speed Kills - Best Pheasant Load on the Market
I hunt wild pheasants from October - December in South Dakota, and from September - March on Minnesota game farms. These Pheasants Forever, 2-3/4 inch, 1-1/4 oz copper-coated #4, 1500 PFS loads are simply the best loads I've ever found. They stone the birds out to 50 yards -- speed kills!. Curiously the larger 3-inch 1-3/8 oz loads do not perform as well and the recoil is more noticable. Stick with the 2-3/4 "Baby Magnums." You will AMAZE your friends with clean kills out to 50 yards...and occasionally beyond.
